Dear Members of the Clark County School District Board of School Trustees,
On behalf of the Nevada Latino Legislative Caucus, we are honored to offer our enthusiastic and unwavering endorsement of Jhone Ebert for the position of Superintendent of Schools for the Clark County School District. We firmly believe that Jhone’s combination of leadership, experience, and deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within our diverse education system make her the perfect candidate to lead the district toward continued success.
Jhone’s leadership as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction has been defined by a relentless commitment to educational equity and a focus on meeting the needs of all students, particularly those from historically underserved backgrounds. Her work has been instrumental in advancing initiatives that support Latino students, immigrant families, and newcomer communities throughout Nevada. Through her efforts, we have seen tangible progress in closing achievement gaps and ensuring that students of all backgrounds are prepared to succeed academically.
One of Jhone’s greatest strengths lies in her ability to navigate the complexities of the legislative process, where she has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of education policy and the legislative session. She has worked tirelessly and effectively with legislators and the Governor’s office, advocating for the needs of students and schools across the state. Her ability to build strong relationships with lawmakers and other stakeholders has resulted in significant policy changes and funding increases that benefit students, educators, and families alike. Over the years, her collaborative approach has been pivotal in creating a shared vision for the future of education in Nevada, and she has earned the respect of legislators on both sides of the aisle.
Jhone’s collaborative spirit extends beyond the halls of the legislature. She has consistently prioritized building strong partnerships with community organizations, parents, teachers, and school leaders. Her ability to bring together diverse stakeholders to work toward common goals has led to the development of policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of Nevada’s students and their families.
As an advocate for immigrant and newcomer families, Jhone has worked to ensure that these communities are not left behind in our educational system. Her leadership has emphasized the importance of providing language support, culturally relevant resources, and wraparound services for families who may be navigating the complexities of a new country and educational system. She has consistently demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that all students—regardless of their background or immigration status—have access to high-quality education and are supported in their academic and personal growth.
The Clark County School District, with its diverse student body, would benefit greatly from Jhone’s expertise, vision, and inclusive leadership. We are confident that she will continue her work of advocating for every student, especially those who are historically underserved, and lead the district in creating equitable opportunities for all.
The Nevada Latino Legislative Caucus proudly supports Jhone Ebert’s candidacy for Clark County School District Superintendent, and we strongly urge you to consider her appointment. Her proven track record of leadership, collaboration, and advocacy for all students makes her the best candidate to lead the district toward continued progress and success.
