Assemblywoman Cecelia González was first elected to serve Assembly District 16 in November 2020. She is a Thai-Mexican American, the daughter of immigrants, and a lifelong Nevadan and dedicated advocate for education and social justice. In addition to her legislative duties, she is a new mother and an educator at Mater Academy.

She is pursuing a Ph. D. in Multicultural Education at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas (UNLV). Assemblywoman González is actively shaping the educational landscape in Nevada, championing inclusivity and equity. Her tireless efforts in the legislative arena reflect her unwavering commitment to advancing policies that benefit students and families across Nevada.

Selena Torres-Fossett

District 03


Assemblywoman Selena Torres-Fossett was elected to serve Nevada Assembly District 3 in November of 2018 at just 23 years old, becoming the youngest lawmaker to serve in Nevada. She is an educator, born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up, her parents taught her the value of hard work, education, and the importance of giving back to her community.

Assemblywoman Torres-Fossett attended Clark County School District and the College of Southern Nevada. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master's in Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She founded the Cesar Chavez Day Las Vegas festival, which created a scholarship to encourage high school participants to pursue higher education. As a current English teacher, Assemblywoman Torres-Fossett encourages her students to be involved in their community and work hard to fulfill their dreams. Assemblywoman Torres-Fossett was chair of the Nevada Latino Legislative Caucus from 2019-2022.

Fabian Doñate

District 10


Senator Fabian Doñate was appointed to represent Senate District 10 in February 2021 following a vacancy in the district. He won his first election in November 2022. Senator Doñate is the first in his family to graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he majored in Public Health. He furthered his education in Public Health by earning a Master's degree from the University of Maryland in Washington, DC.

Senator Doñate served as Caucus Chair from 2020-2024 and currently serves as the secretary-treasure. His priorities include providing all Nevadans access to healthcare regardless of immigration status, ensuring educational equity for all Latino students, so they have the same opportunities as any other Nevadan, and improving language access to make our state welcoming for everyone.

Sandra Jauregui

District 41


Assemblywoman Sandra Jauregui was elected to the Nevada State Assembly in November 2016 and is currently serving her fifth term in office. She moved to Las Vegas in 2009 to complete her bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While in college, she interned and later worked with United States Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Her passion for community involvement led her to work with the Financial Guidance Center, where she served as the Director of Community Development and Partnerships, as well as the Director for the Attorney General’s housing program, Home Again: The Nevada Homeowner Relief Program. In this role, she was able to assist Nevadans directly by providing free education aimed at helping them establish a sound financial future. Additionally, she served as the Chair of Government Affairs and Public Relations for NAHREP Nevada, the National Association of Real Estate Professionals. Through this organization, she worked to help the Latino community achieve the dream of sustainable homeownership.

Edgar Flores

District 02


Senator Edgar Flores was first elected to represent Assembly District 28 in 2014, serving three terms in the Assembly before being elected to Senate District 2 in November 2022. Born to hardworking and dedicated immigrant parents, Senator Flores made it his mission to repay their sacrifices. He navigated the Clark County education system and earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He then pursued a Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law.


Over the past 10 years, Senator Flores has had the privilege of running and collaborating with numerous youth programs. These initiatives help students from underprivileged communities prepare for college, understand their potential in the professional world, and ultimately gain the confidence to achieve their goals through hard work. In addition to his duties in the Legislature, he is a practicing immigration lawyer and runs his own law firm.

Elaine Marzola

District 21


Assemblywoman Elaine Marzola was first elected to represent Assembly District 21 in November 2020 and is currently serving her third term in office. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and immigrated to Las Vegas, Nevada, with her parents in 1984. Assemblywoman Marzola graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a Bachelor's in Women's Studies.

During her undergraduate years, she volunteered and later worked at SafeNest Domestic Violence Shelter. After completing her degree, she attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2010. In the fall of 2011, she became a member of the Nevada State Bar and served as a judicial law clerk. Among the many influences on Assemblywoman Marzola's journey, her active participation in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the Nevada Bar Association, and the Nevada Justice Association continues to play a significant role in her progress.

Dina Neal

District 04


Senator Dina Neal was born and raised in North Las Vegas, Nevada. She was first elected to represent Senate District 4 in November 2020. As the daughter of former state Senator Joe Neal, she has been surrounded by politics her entire life. Senator Neal attended Southern University Law School, where she served as the Opinion Editor for the Southern A&M University newspaper for three years.

Additionally, she was the president of the Pre-Law Association, the Political Science Association, and the honor society Pi Sigma Alpha. After graduating from law school, she became an educator to support children in Clark County, teaching English and serving as an Adjunct Professor at the College of Southern Nevada.

Cinthia Zermeño Moore

District 11


As the daughter of immigrants and a first-generation Latina, Assemblywoman Moore is proud to represent Assembly District 11 after being elected in November 2024. She has extensive experience in advancing legislation, having spent years helping organizations pass bills that benefit the community. For nearly 20 years, Assemblywoman Moore has been a strong advocate for environmental justice.

She is committed to giving back to her community and is an active member of the Junior League of Las Vegas, a community service organization for women. Additionally, she serves on the State Advisory Board for Climate Power and previously co-chaired the Scholarships Committee for the Nellis Area Spouses’ Club, which awarded $30,000 in scholarships to military dependents. As a legislator, Assemblywoman Moore is dedicated to fighting for affordable housing, improved schools, better job opportunities, and accessible healthcare for all Nevadans.

Michelee “Shelly” Cruz-Crawford

District 01


Senator Michelee “Shelly” Cruz Crawford was elected to represent Senate District 1 in November 2024. She is a first-generation high school and college graduate and currently serves as an officer in the Air Force National Guard. Additionally, Crawford is a school principal.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2004 and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010, both from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Most recently, in 2023, she received an Education Doctorate in Leadership and Policy from William Howard Taft University; her dissertation focused on recruiting diverse educators by removing barriers to licensure.

Before her election as a senator, Crawford served as a member of the Nevada Board of Regents for District 8.
